In the May 25 edition of Muses – the arts blog from BJPsych International – Dr Tim McInerny, Pictures Editor, BJPsych International introduces Sally Osborn, the artist whose work is on the cover of the latest edition of BJPsych International.

As pictures editor, I have selected Sally Osborn’s work, Haus Domino, for the May 2025 cover.

Sally Osborn is a ceramic artist who lives and works in Berlin and Glasgow. Her art is compelling in its abstract structure and which requires great skill to create. The roughness of the unglazed ceramic adds beauty to its sensuous shape.

Sally writes;

‘A looping path of unglazed blue and ochre ceramic rises and falls across the floor. The movement of an imagined domino effect suspended by the fired clay.’

‘With my own experience of the world together with clay’s shifting materiality I keep ideas in flux. A combination of intuitive making and restricted geometry, neither functional nor entirely abstract, the works are an attempt to place object and viewer together in which a process of transformation or exchange occurs, suggesting perhaps that all works are in progress and thus subject to being reconstructed.’ http://sallyosborn.com/
